Dr. Wong is a Professor of Anesthesia and Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine. She is an obstetric anesthesiologist whose research interests revolve around neuraxial labor analgesia and its effects on the progress of labor, as well as anesthesia for cesarean delivery and maternal safety. She is currently on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia and the British Journal of Anaesthesia, as well as a guest reviewer for other anesthesiology and obstetric journals, and has edited several major textbooks, including Chestnut’s Obstetric Anesthesia, Principles and Practice. Other clinical interests include malignant hyperthermia. She has served as an MH Hotline consultant for many years.
