Heather O’Reilly is a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at CHEO. An East Coaster, she completed her MD and anesthesia residency in her home province of Newfoundland, before relocating to Ottawa to undertake fellowships in both pediatric anesthesia and pediatric critical care. Passionate about medical education and simulation, she completed post-graduate training in Simulation at the University of Ottawa, and is working towards completing her Master’s of Medical Education through the University of Dundee, Scotland. Currently she is the Anesthesia Resident Site Coordinator at CHEO, an active member of the Anesthesia and Pediatric Critical Care Competence Committees, Anesthesia Simulation Faculty, and a SimCHEO Faculty Mentor. She is involved in medical education, simulation and global health research, with a special interest in team based resuscitation, competency based medical education and burnout. A self-proclaimed Trekkie, she enjoys road trips, epic hikes, fresh tracks, and searching for the best homemade ice cream!
